I am so thankful I decided to join Embrace Uganda on this trip. I had never left the country or been on a mission trip before so I really didn’t have any clue what to expect. I just knew that I wanted to help people somehow and I figured this would be a great way to do it. The poverty and culture change shook me up a few times during my first couple of days here, but once I adjusted to my surroundings I started to feel this incredible sense of peace. I came to Uganda to help others but strangely enough, I think perhaps the people here have helped me more than I’ve helped them. Witnessing firsthand how Embrace Uganda impacts the lives of everyone here by providing clean water, education, and health care has inspired me and given me the perspective to enjoy every blessing God has given me. I’m one of three members of the team staying for 6 months. In just one week I’ve seen countless lives touched and I’m excited for the remainder of my trip!
