Teddy Akao
Bio: My name is Akao Teddy and I am 20 years old. I was born on the 29th June 1997 during a tragic moment of the war in Northern Uganda in a family of 8 and at the age of 3 years still during the war. My mum left us with our dad which made my early age so miserable with some of my sisters and brothers quitting school just to take care of me.
My Dad started working at the diocese and we had to move on to another district which was worse than where we were but since we wanted to earn a living, we had to endure the sounds of the bullets and running to the bush but God worked out away and I got to Agape.
At Agape there still life at one moment became hard that we were told that it was going to be close and at that time we prayed and fasted for God to open doors and Embrace Uganda came in to start helping us. Now am doing a bachelor's degree in computer science at the International University of East Africa.
Goals: I am looking forward to being a good network administrator and a developer. I also love Music and I would love to do some music Christian music, in particular, alongside my computer science carrier.
Cotridah Bagalaganza
Bio: My name is Cotridah. I was born in February 1998 in Kisoro village. I am an only child. After the death of my, both parents in a car accident and that caused my mum to die with my unborn brother, I was taken to my grandmother's place. I stayed with her for a year. There came some people to our area and they told my grandmother that they could take care of needy children and I was registered to be one of the kids. I was taken to Agape Children's Village. I found other kids like me and I stayed there ever since I was young. According to the law, when someone turns 18 years old, they have to be removed from the program. The sad part is that we have been removed from this program but have nowhere to go. I am now at the University studying Journalism.
Goals: I want to become a great Journalist in Africa and I desire to help those who need help.
Annet Naggujja
Bio: "I was born in a family of three boys and two girls. I am the second girl. I grew up with my grand mum. She used to take care of me but when there was a registration of needy children in the neighborhood she took me there to be registered with Compassion. It was called Ggaba Child Development Center in Kampala.
Surprisingly, Ggaba Child Development was taking children to a children's home in Mukonobukrerere and my grand mum was given the choice to send me to the children's home. At the children's home, we met different friends and family. We had visitors from the USA called Embrace Uganda. They also came with a plan of sponsoring secondary students. Before that time and since we did not have enough donors, I did not have any plans for going to secondary school. I am now at the University studying public administration and when I am done with my studies,
Goals: I want to be a counselor. I thank God because he always takes care of me.
Faridah Nansamba
Bio: I was born on August 24 1996 and I am from Masaka where I was before I joined Agape Children's Village in 2004, after the death of my single mother. I don't know anything about my father; I was told he died before I was old enough to know him. I also lived with my brother called Abraham and my eldest sister called Amina. Amina was our elder sister who was responsible for our wellbeing after our mother died. After sometime, she could not handle it anymore so she withdrew from the responsibility and left us alone. By God's grace, I got a chance to join Agape Children's Village. My brother Abraham followed me after sometime.
I have been in Agape Children's Village since 2004, where I was raised in a godly way by a loving woman who my house mother was called Mama Christine. However, according to the law when you turn 18 years you can no longer be in the orphanage. This worried me since day one, but because the Lord is faithful, He has been able to get us a new home through Embrace Uganda. I am so grateful for this new opportunity.
I am at the University studying fashion and design (tailoring). My desire is to open up my own fashion store in the next three years by God's grace.
Goals: My prayer is that through my fashion store, I will get the ability to take care of my family members that really need my help as well as kids from different places.
Robert Omeny
Bio: My name is Omeny Robert, I am 20 years old. I am 5.8 feet tall. I was born on the 29th June 1997 during a tragic time of the war in Northern Uganda. Kezron Owora
Bio: Hi, I am Owora Kezron. I learned about Embrace Uganda at Agape Children's Village, the orphanage to which I was taken through Compassion International after losing both my parents.
I left Agape in 2012 after finishing my S.4, which is like grade 11. I then worked very hard to finish my S.6. I couldn't afford the University tuition since I was now on my own. I went to music studios and started learning audio production and also checked out some YouTube tutorials on film-making.
Goals: I am interested in making films, TV production, and videography. In the future, I want to be Africa's best when it comes to film-making and videography. The course I am interested in is a Bachelors of Science in Multimedia and Animation. It covers all the course units I need to become like James Cameron - a great Hollywood director. Thank you.
Godfrey Seguya
Bio: I was born in Kigungu in a family of six kids. I was staying with my single mother who was a food vendor. I joined Compassion when I was six years old and they took me to Kigungu Child Development Centre. Some people came looking for kids to take to Agape Children’s Village and I was one of the selected ones.
As for now, I am doing Information technology (IT).
Goals: I want to become a great technician in Africa. By God's will, I also would like to be a good music producer because I love music as well. Thank you.
Robert Sekyanzi
Bio: I am called Ssekyanzi Robert and I was born on the 21st December 1994.
I lost my parents when I was still young and I had no hope of school or a good life. When my parents died, I started living with my Auntie and I was introduced to Agape. After I finished my primary school, I came to know about Embrace Uganda in 2009. I thank God because you people came up and paid all the money for my high school and now I am at the University doing 3D animation.
Goals: Once I finish school, I look forward to becoming a professional 3D animator. I hope and pray to God that I can fulfill all my dreams in life.
Abraham Ssensiti
Bio: I am Ssensiti Abraham. I was born on March 3, 1994 in Masaka, where I was before I joined Agape Children's Village in 2005 after the death of my single mother. Amina was our elder sister who was responsible for our well being, but after sometime she could not handle it anymore. She withdrew from the responsibility and left us alone. By God's grace, Faridah got a chance to join Agape Children's Village, where I followed her after sometime.
I have been in Agape Children's Village ever since. I thank God that I have grown up here. According to the law, whoever turns 18 years of age must be out of the children's village. I was praying and thinking of where to go when God brought Embrace Uganda into my life with the answer to my prayers of a new home. I thank God for this new home and the plans He has for my sister and me.
Goals: I want to become a software engineer by 2023 with good grades from a good and recognized Technology University. I want to earn a good job, where I can take care of my family as a very good Father, my relatives and kids in the world that need a helping hand. Thank you so much.
