Thank You To All, Kadacar Well, July 12th, 2010 (by AJ and Ana Overton)
To all the supporters of Kadacar Primary School in Koreng –
Today was an awesome day at Kadacar as the deep well of the primary school was finished and water was pumped for the first time on the school grounds!!! Community members gathered in the morning to witness the installation of the pipes and pump. Once the well was completed, students, teachers, and community members gathered around the well and were overjoyed when watching the first water flow from the newly constructed well. As the adults walked away, the students jumped in and the few that had bottles started filling them, as those that didn’t have bottles reached out their hands under the stream of water to then put the little bit of water in their hands into their mouths. Their thirst was quenched.
Surely the school attendance at Kadacar will rise as a result of the well, since it will allow for the students to go through a school day without having to walk for miles to get water. Also, the well will help the construction of the school buildings be completed sooner, as the water for construction will be much more accessible… The engraving on the concrete of the base of the well reads: “Donated by Embrace (U) Project thru ACE Ministries DWD 30855 Kadacar P/S B.H. 2/7/2010” (i.e. July 2, 2010).
To all of you who made this possible through your donations and prayers, we thank you on behalf of Kadacar Primary School, the Kadachar community, and Embrace Uganda.
